ANNUAL PRIZE=GIVING
KURIPUNI SUNDAY SCHOOL. SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. In connection with the fifty-ninth anniversary of the Kuripuni Methodist Sunday School the annual prize-giving and concert last night was well attended by parents and friends. A mos enjoyable programme was provided by the children whose efforts were warmly applauded. The programme consisted of choruses and part singing while individual contributions wen made by the following:—Recitations. Noel Price. Ernie Arnold. Joy Arnold Maurice Reed. Shirley Nicholt. Gordon Price. Marjorie Carr: mouth organ trio, Price Brothers; pianoforte solo. Miss Valmai Davis. The dev. F. J. Parker gave an interesting illustrated talk on "Calenders." mentioning the interesting period the school was now entering upon, namely its diamond jubilee. The annual report and balance sheet revealed that the school was well prepared to enter its jubilee year. Bouquets were presented to Mr: Parker. Mrs Millar. Miss McKenzie (organist and pianist). Mrs H. Speight and Miss Valmai Davis also received floral tributes from the Sundt-v School children. A pleasing little ceremony took place just prior to the concert, when th< sin'erintei'denl. on behalf of the stall and children made a presentation to Mi- W. Davies in appreciation of his valuable services as conductor of the] choir. Mrs F. J. Parker distributed the pri- 1 zes and Mr F. .1. Rutter (senior circuit steward) brought the happy gathering to a close by pronouncing the Benediction.
