MASTERTON COUNTY

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD THIS MORNING. POSITION OF VARIOUS FUNDS. At the ordinary meeting of the Finance Committee of the Masterton County Council held this morning, the treasurer (Mr J. C. D. Mackley), reported that the position of the various accounts was as follow: —County Fund Account, dr. £9929; Bridge Loan Account, of £14,500, cr £11,645, of which £ll.OOO was on fixed deposit; Bridge Fund Account, cr £737. Receipts since the last meeting of the council totalled £366. Accounts amounting to £6379 19s 4d were recommended for payment. The clerk was authorised to arrange for alterations and repairs to be made to the county cottages at Cheviotdale and Weraiti. The office staff was granted their annual leave from Friday, December 22, 1939. to Tuesday, January 9, 1940. It was decided that the next meeting of the council be held on Tuesday, January 6. __
