GERMAN THREAT
UNRESTRICTED WARFARE INTENSIFICATION ROUND BRITAIN. SHIPPING OF ALL NATIONS TO BE SUNK. Daventry reports that according to the Berlin radio. Germany’s reply to the Allied seizure of exports, which started yesterday, will be an intensification of unrestricted warfare around a certain area of Britain, where all shipping will be sunk without warning, no matter what the nationality of the vessels may be. A large German mine-layer is reported to have been sunk. MAGNETIC MINES BRITISH 'COUNTER MEASURES HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL. (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) t LONDON. December 4. It is announced that British secret counter measures against magnetic mines are proving highly successful.
