CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS. WIN FOR A. R. KITTO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.. December 3. There was a good representation of clubs at the annual champion of champions' tournament on the Manawatu links today. Notable absentees were J. P. Hornabrook (Mastertoni. open and amateur champion of the Dominion, and B. M. Silk (Wanganui), last year’s winner. The day was a triumph for A. R. Kitto (Seafield), runner-up to Hornabrook for the New Zealand amateur championship this year, who won the contest with an aggregate of 149, six strokes better than the runner-up, G. P. Roberts (Hutt). Heavy showers fell during the morning. but the weather then cleared, though a high wind made low scoring difficult. The course was in excellent order. The following are the results: — Champion of champions 36-holes medal competition: A. R. Kitto, 149; G. P. Roberts, 155. Thirty-six holes medal handicap: A. R. Kitto, 149. Best gross scare: A. R. Kitto, 71. Best net score in afternoon round: W. G. Clark (Levin), 76.
