P. AND T. EMPLOYEES
ANNUAL RE-UNION. Ninety members of the Wairarapa section of the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Employees' Association gathered together on Saturday in the Municipal Hall on the occasion of the twenty-third annual re-union of the Association. The function, which was a great success, was presided over by Mr J. Blake (local chairman). Among the visitors present were: —Messrs J. Robertson. M.P., B. Roberts, M.P., 11. E. Combs, M.P.. W. White (deputyMayor of Masterton). H. M. Patrick (senior inspector of G.P.0.). J. Churchill (senior vice-president of the association). C. Dorrian (executive committee member), J. H. McKenzie (general secretary). S. Mather (assistant secretary of the association). G. R. Sykes. M. M. Simpson (postmaster at Masterton). I. 1. McGregor and J. D. O’Connor A number of apologies were received Several toasts were honoured, including the -King." "P. and T. Department” (Mr W. White—Mr H. M. Patrick); "Parliament" (Mr G. R. Sykes— Messrs Robertson and Roberts); “P. and T. Association" (Mr H. E. Coombs —Messrs J. Churchill and J. H. McKenzie). Speeches appropriate to the occasion were given. Musical interludes were given by Barnes's Orchestra. A most enjoyable time was spent.
