TRIBUTES TO THE FINNS SOVIET EMBASSY GUARDED. EXPECTATION OF FURTHER DEMONSTRATIONS. (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) ROME, December 3. Indignation against Russia increases hourly. The Soviet Embassy is carefully guarded in expectation of further demonstrations. Newspaper accounts from Finland all sympathise with the defenders. The ‘■Messagero” pays a tribute to the accuracy of the Finnish artillery, stating that it knocked out thirty tanks in one battle near Petsamo, and adds that large units of parachutists landed behind the Karelian defences, but were wiped out after a bitter struggle. The “Pcpoli Di Roma" declares that the Finns found many of the Russians whom they have taken prisoners suffering from scurvy and lack of warm clothing. FINNISH WORKERS SUPPORT FOR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT. NOTHING LEFT EXCEPT TO FIGHT. HELSINKI, December 3. The Social Democrat Party and the Trade Union organisation have issued a proclamation supporting the Ryti Government, which “has the sole right to represent the Finnish people. If Russia did not recognise the desire of the Finnish working class for peace, there is nothing left for workers except to fight against force.” POISON GAS SOVIET CHARGE AGAINST FINNS. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) MOSCOW, December 3. The Press accuses the Finns of using poison gas. EMPHATIC DENIAL EXHAUSTIVE INQUIRY INVITED. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) HELSINKI, December 3. A communique denies the Russian allegations that Finland has used poison gas. The Government is ready to allow exhaustive neutral inquiry. WOMEN AS BOMBERS BODY FOUND IN SOVIET ' PLANE. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, December 3. Women flyers participated in the bombing raids in Helsinki on December 1. A woman’s body was among those of the crew of a crashed Russian bomber. She was possibly one among many, as the Russian Air Force has long been open to women.
