A PAINFUL ACCIDENT (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr Pat Condon met with a painful accident yesterday while engaged in felling a tree. The axe he was using caught in a branch and glancing off struck him on the shoulder, inflicting a severe wound- which necessitated the insertion of six stitches. Croquet Match. Mrs J. McKeown and Mrs- H. Freeman. members of the local croquet club, played a buttons match at Featherston yesterday, and lost 18:26.
