BOWLING
GRADY MEDALS. A DRAWN GAME. A match of more than usual interest was played at the Park on Wednesday, when Fugc and Rolls (Featherston) challengers, played Thompson and Shearer (Park) holders, for the Grady medals. Except for the third end when Park scored 5 and the fourth end when Featherston scored 6 the game was closely contested throughout, not more than one or two points separating the pairs at any stage. The position changed with almost every bowl until, at the 20th end, Park led by 22 to 21. On the final end Featherston scored 1. leaving the result a draw. The standard of play was brilliant throughout but special mention must be made of the outstanding game played by the leads. Although Featherston were unfortunate in failing 'to lift the medals after such a splendid performance a draw was a fair indication of the merit of the two pairs who received prolonged applause from a large number of spectators at the conclusion of the game.
