TAUHERENIKAU RACECOURSE BENEFIT BY RECENT RAIN. ("Times-Age” Special.) The recent rains have had a very beneficial effect on the course and grounds at Tauherenikau. The club's staff is working hard preparing for the meeting to be held during the New Year. Trainers say that the course has never been in better condition at this season of the year. The good stakes offered by the club and the excellent accommodation for both patrons, and horses, should draw record fields and a record attendance. NEW POWER LINE WORK NEARING COMPLETION. The last piece of heavy cable is at present being stretched over the Tauherenikau River to connect the new power line recently erected between Khandallah and Masterton. At the completion of the work the men will be transferred to other centres where similar undertakings are being; carried out. The work of erecting the line has extended over several months and has provided work for a number of local men. It is reported that the power will be turned on about December 10. Personal. Dr G. S. and Mrs Sharp are visiting Auckland for a few days.
