RAID ON BORKUM
DAMAGE DONE TO ENEMY DEFENCES RESULTS OF BRITISH ATTACK. SUMMED UP BY PILOT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 10.20 a.m.) LONDON. November 30. One of the pilots engaged in the Borkum Island raid on Wednesday summed up the results. Firstly, five German seaplanes were machine-gun-ned and two are believed to have been seriously damaged. Secondly, three of the four machine-gun posts on the mole were probably put out of action. Thirdly, enemy patrol boats were riddled with bullets. Fourthly, valuable information regarding the island's fortifications was collected. The British attacking force comprised a complete squadron of twelve fighters.
