RATIONING IN BRITAIN. STARTING ON JANUARY 8.. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 10.0 a.m.) LONDON. November 28. Mr W. S. Morrison announced in the House of Commons that the rationing scheme for butter and bacon was being introduced on January 8. Of each of these commodities, there would be four ounces weekly for every consumer. Sugar was not included in the rationing scheme, but consumers were asked to register and to restrict their purchases to one lb. per head weekly.
