ENGLISH GIRL WHO BROADCASTS Mrs J. Hardwick, of Burgess Hill. Sussex, declared that she is convinced that her daughter’ is “an innocent tool of the Nazi Government." The daughter, 28-year-old Diana Hardwick, has more than, once broadcast in English from a German station. She said the Germans had been "treated like dogs by the Poles.” "Diana speaks English. French. Italian, and German fluently.” said Mrs Hardwick. "She went to Germany to earn her living as a freelance journalist in 1935, and has not been home since. "My husband and I were horrified when she broadcast a week ago. We are convinced that Diana knew nothing of the real situation. She is an intense patriot, and since she has been in Berlin she worked for Anglo-German friendship. Mr Hardwick said he is convinced Diana has been the victim of the Nazi propaganda chiefs. "Now she will probably never be allowed to leave the country, ’ he added. "My wife wrote to Mr Neville Chamberlain giving him the I acts, and received a reply that the contents of her’letter had been noted."
