ST. ANDREW’S NIGHT

SCOTTISH CONCERT. TO BE PRESENTED AT OPERA HOUSE. On Thursday night in the Masterton Opera House the St Andrew Society will present a concert programme appropriate to the occasion. The programme will include pipe selections by Pipers A. M. Mackenzie Douglas, L. Either, Neil Dickel, and W. N. Mackenzie Douglas, baritone solos by Mr Ken Macauley, Scottish dances by Mrs R. Hall, Miss E. Edwards, Messrs C. M. Walker, A. Cruickshank, Miss Edna Corlett, songs by Mrs Wilfred Andrews, duets by Miss Doreen Jamieson and Mr W. C. Mann and recitations by Chieftainess Mrs Robert Miller. The accompaniste will be Mrs H. M Morton. The second half of the programme will be taken up with the presentation of a one-act play (A Scots' comedy thriller), “Midnicht”, the producer being Mrs Robert Miller, and the stage manager Mr J. M. Lawson. Those who will take part in the play will be Misses Grace Gaudin and Margaret McLaren, Mrs Robert Miller. Messrs J. A. Kennedy, P. C. McLaren W. C. Mann, A. M. McKenzie Douglas and Finlay Milne. Souvenir programmes of a unique kind will be provided at the concert.
