DRIVERS’ UNION FEES (To the Editor.) Sir, —We have received today from the Transport and Drivers' Union a notice stating that our union fees have been advanced from 5s to 6s 6d. We have had no notice previous to this and there has been no meeting here to our knowledge. It seems to us to be a totally unfair thing to increase these charges, as under the present living conditions it is almost impossible to make ends meet. We would like to know what this extra Is 6d per quarter is for. ... In conclusion we strongly object to making this extra payment before knowing what this amount is intended for. —We are etc..
