CANADIAN WILD FOWL

PROTECTIVE MEASURES. Due to protective measures taken to prevent the slaughter of Canadian wild fowl, wild geese were reported.to be breeding in the Province of Saskatchewan for the first time in years. The Canadian Prairies, with numerous small and shallow lakes in which wild rice grows in profusion, were at one time the principal breeding ground lor the famed Canada goose as well as other varieties of geese and other wild fowl. Due to the lack of protection, these birds were driven to the North West Territories and the Canadian sub ? Arctic. With strict government control being exercised for their protection. the birds are now returning to their old breeding grounds.
