WEDDING
BROWN—EVERY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The marriage took place at St. Andrew’s Church, Carterton, on Saturday of Marion Henrietta, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Every, and Robert Ramsay, son of Mr and Mrs George Brown, of Carterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. J. Couling. The bride, who made a charming picture, was escorted by her father. She wore cream-lace over satin, cut on Princess lines with train effect and heart-shaped neckline, which was finished with a narrow frill of georgette. The back of the bodice and tight fitting sleeves were trimmed with tiny buttons while the belt was of plaited georgette. She wore a wristlet of orange blossom which had been worn by the bridegroom’s mother, and touches of real orange blossom, the gift of Mrs Stent. Her veil of tulle forming a train, and finished with a coronet of pearls, was lent by Mrs Ralph Eyers, of Christchurch. The bridesmaids were Misses Gwennyth Every, of Mokau (sister), and Jean Riddeli, of Gisborne. The bridesmaids were attired in delicate blue sheer georgette over blue satin with shirred waists and heart-shaped neckline, finished with matching buttons. They carried very beautiful trailing bouquets of pink roses and sweet peas and wore headbands of roses and sweet peas, with touches of blue delphinium. The best man was Mr Athol Congalion. of Wellington, and the groomsman Mr George Brown, Junr. The church was beautifully decorated with arum lilies and roses, a large and beautiful bell of white flowers and thrift being suspended over the bridal pair. The wedding music was provided by a very old friend of the bride. A reception was subsequently held at St. Andrew's Hall, which had been tastefully decorated by friends of both families, with peonies, lupins, and tables containing roses and sweet peas. The guests were received by the bride’s' mother, who was attired in a black and white American spotted silk ensemble with matching accessories and carried a posy of crimson roses, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, dressed in a fuschia ensemble with navy accessories. She carried a bouquet of pink and mauve shaded flowers. The bride’s going away dress was a three-piece apron ensemble of royal blue matalasse with accessories to tone. On their return Mr and Mrs Brown will take up their residence at Park | Road, Carterton.
