Mrs C. K. McLaren, of “Arohunui," Hinakura. spent the weekend at Petone. Mr and Mrs Spooner, of Featherston, left on Saturday to take up their resident at Gisborne. Miss Mary Paterson, who has been studying home science in Dunedin, has returned home to Pahiatua. Mrs F. Dunham, of Eketahuna, spent the weekend in Martinfiorough as the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs Boyd. Miss Davidson, who has been the guest of Miss Donald, of Featherston, has returned to her home in Whangarei. Mrs H. Routh who was at one time in business in Pahiatua. and has been living for several years in America, has gone to England to take part in war service. At the recent Trinity College examination held in Wellington, Miss Joan Grantham, of Masterton. was successful Jn passing her senior elocutionary examination with merit, ■ gaining 82 points. Miss Janet Crumpton, Te Puna, Havelock North, who has been in London for the last four years and a half studying for her L.R.A.M., has returned to New Zealand. Miss Crompton received tuition from the well-known operatic singer, Madame Rosina Buckman, a former resident of Masterton.
