Shield match: Hutana, Kariatiana Hyland. Higgins beat O'Donnell. Smith Staniforth. Simpson 17-16. KEANE TROPHY. WIN FOR FEATHERSTON. During the weekend the Keane Trophy was competed for by Lyall Bay . (holders) Featherston and Park. The ’ games were played at Featherston and although conditions were not very favourable for bowling the players had a most enjoyable outing the success of which was largely due to the hospitality of the Featherston ladies. Results, morning games: Cambourne, Paton McKenna, Raven (Lyall Bay) lost to Davis, Roxburgh. Anderson, Bloxham (Featherston) 9-31. Allport, Morse, Marshall, Newson (Lyall Bay) beat Lepinski, Hyland, Rowles. O'Neale (Featherston) 32-16. Marshall. Duston, Burcher, Conder (lyall Bay) beat Andrews, Wallace, Brown, Kilgour (Park) 23-19. Campbell, Mawley, Keane, Noad (Lyall Bay) beat Anstice. Dagg. Bell. Shearer (Park) 26-19. Robinson, Moriarty, Fuge, Rolls (Featherston) beat Aydon, Burke, Ewington. Brownie (Park) 34-16. Kariatiana, McNamara, James, Higgison (Featherston) beat Newton, Fenton, Staniforth. Thompson (Park) 26-25. Afternoon games: Raven (s) lost to Brownie 4-22. Newson lost to Thompson 8-28. Conder beat Rolls 17-13. Noad lost to Higgison 5-22. Bloxham lost to Kilgour 9-15. O’Neale beat Shearer 18-15. Games won: Featherston 5 wins (thus winnings the trophy), Lyall Bay 4 wins. Park 3 wins. GRADY MEDALS. • During the week a match for the Grady Medals was played between Harrington and Kerr (Carterton) holders. and Thompson and Shearer (Park) challengers. The match resulted in a win for the Park pair by 25 to 19. MUTRIE CUP. A match for the Mutrie Cup was played on the Park green between Vowell and Cliff (Masterton) challengers and Carr and Gibson (Park) holders. The Park pair were successful in retaining the trophy by 18 points to 11. PARK CLUB GAMES. I have been impressed by the good form shown by some the Colts. A young player must be careful 1c see that his delivery of the bowl is correct, and also that his stance is in ■order. So many players (including seniors) will not take up the correct stance. They will persist in facing the "‘Jack" instead of facing in the direc- . lion in which the bowl is to be played j
