NAVAL LOSS

LARGE MERCHANT CRUISER SUNK HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE FEARED. ONLY SEVENTEEN KNOWN SURVIVORS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.53 a.m.) RUGBY, November 26. The Admiralty announced this evening that his Majesty’s armed merchant cruiser Rawalpindi (16.100 tons), formerly a Panclo mail ship, has been sunk. It is feared that all the officers and the ship’s company have been lost, except 17 whose names are published.
