WAR POTENTIALS
THE ALLIES' SUPERIOR RESOURCES. FIGURES & MILITARY FACTS. J By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. November 25. The statement issued after the meeting of the Supreme War Council on November 17 concerning the maximum unification of the Allied war potentials is discussed in the current issue of. “Ilie Economist,” which, describes it as "of quite extraordinary importance.” “The Economist" says: "For the conduct of the war this new-found economic solidarity will be crucial. "It is more obvious every day that the war is to be a test of economic strength, and that to win the coolest we must, not merely have superior strength bin must, deploy it in line of battle. That we have the strength can be seen from the briefest glance at the statistics. "Britain and France, even without their Dominions ami colonies, produce more than four times as much iron ore —the foundation of any industrial economy in war as in peace—as Germany and her conquests. They have nearly three times as many vehicles in use — an indication both of the mobility in transport and of the popular standard of living. And they produce twice as many motor-vehicles every year—a sign of their manufacturing capacity. "Our task now is to turn these figures into military facts, and last week's decision is an earnest determination to do it. in the most effective way possible."
