THREE MEN INJURED

CAR SKIDS AND OVERTURNS. ACCIDENT ON BENNETT'S HILL. Three men received injuries which necessitated their removal to the Masterton Hospital when a car overturned on Bennett's Hill about 5 miles from Masterton. on the MastertonCastlepoint main highway at 4.30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The injured men were: Robert Francis Lambert, aged 21 years, of Coradine Street. Masterton, scalp wounds: James Phillips, .aged 53. of Masterton. a broken rib: and John Ractlifl'e. Church Street, Masterton, shock and abrasions. Mr Ractliffe received treatment and was discharged from the Hospital on Sunday morning. The condition of the other injured men was reported to be satisfactory, on enquiry at the Masterton Hospital this morning. It is stated that the car in which the men were travelling towards Masterton skidded and after travelling some distance, overturned about three times before coming to rest on the roadside. The occupants of the car, which was considerably damaged, were conveyed into Masterton by passing motorists. They were treated by Drs. Berney and Graham Cowie, and later removed to the Masterton Hospital. The accident was caused by a tyre bursting.
