SECRET SITTING
PROPOSED IN BRITISH PARLIAMENT MOVE BY OPPOSITION LEADER. TO DISCUSS ORGANISATION AND SUPPLIES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.17 a.m.) RUGBY, November 24. The intention of the Opposition leader (Mr C. R. Attlee) announced on Wednesday, in the House of Commons, to ask in the new Parliamentary session for a secret sitting at an early opportunity to discuss improving organisation and the output of supplies, is understood to be under the sympathetic consideration of the Government. Opposition Liberals also support Mr Attlee’s initiative, and it is reported that among Government supporters the proposal is viewed with some favour. While fully recognising the obvious objections to this procedure, it is understood that Ministers appreciate that certain advantages are to be gained, and their decision will presumably be reached after testing the feeling of members as a whole.
