HONEY SPONGE ROLL

TWO RECIPES. The following are two good recipes for honey sponge roll: — - Beat three eggs and one cup of sugar together until light and thick. Mix together one "teacup of flour, half teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of cream of tartar, and sift lightly into the eggs and sugar. Dissolve two tablespoons of honey in one tablespoon of boiling water; stir in lightly, place mixture in a shallow greased tin, and bake in a moderate oven from 20-30 minutes. Turn out. spread with filling, and roll up while hot. Keep covered with a cloth until cool.

The other recipe is: Beat three eggs for .15 minutes, beat in one cup of sugar and sift in lightly one cup of flour mixed with two teaspoons of baking powder. Melt one teaspoon of butter and two desertspoons of honey in one tablespoon of warm milk, mix in lightly and cook as above
