ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS

MASTERTON LODGE. INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS. ■At the final quarterly summoned meeting for the present year of Loyal Masterton Lodge of Odd Fellows, N.G. Bro L. P. Morris presided over an exceptionally large attendance of members. Correspondence of a lengthy nature was placed before the meeting and dealt with. . Accounts totalling £56 18s 9d covering sick pay and general were passed for payment. Letters of recommendation were granted to Bros A. W. Dingle and N. F. Marks, which will enable them to visit other lodges and receive the privileges of Odd Fellowship both in New Zealand and Australia. A hearty welcome was extended to P.D.G.M. Bro R. Dagg (Taranaki District) and P.G. Bro J. P. Farrell (Loyal Napier Lodge). Both members suitably replied expressing their pleasure at being present and also their appreciation of the warmth of the welcome extended to them. The lodge was honoured by a visit from the District Grand Master and his Officers, who, after being accorded a most cordial welcome, returned thanks for the kind manner in which they had been received. They spoke at length on various matters of interest to members of the local lodge. The election of officers for the ensuing six months resulted as follow: — 1.P.N.G., Bro L. P. Morris; N.G.. Bro P. C. Reynolds; V.G.. Bro C. E. Mooney; E.S. Sister M. E. Prout; Warden, Sister L. Rickards; Guardian, Brc N. Michel; R.S. to N.G., Sister V. E Stains; L.S., Sister A. M. Davey; R.S. to V.G.. P.G. Bro P. Watts; L.S., Brc E. A. Clements; management commit tee. P.G.’s Bros R. C. Baikie. J. Harris and A. A. Torrance in conjunction with Elective Officers; delegates to Friendly Societies' Council. P.G.'s Bros F. B. Wright and W. A. Palmer: delegates tc Dispensary Board P.D.G.M.'s Bros .1 H. Langley and P. M. Smith. The District Officers were then invited to assume the chairs for the purpose of installing the duly elected Lodge Officers. After the District Grand Master had capably administered the Obligations, and heartily congratulated the elected officers, the various chairs were addressed by his coofficers. the work being carried out in an efficient manner. It was unanimously resolved to place on record the splendid services rendered by the retiring 1.P.N.G., Sister P. J. Wilton, and that she be presented with the Diploma and Regalia of a Past Grand. Her name is to be placed on the Merit Board. The Sisters kindly provided a very dainty supper.
