By walking from Okoroire to Hamilton. a distance of 361 miles, in II hours 19 minutes, an Okoroire resident won a wager of £lO from a farmer living in the Okoroire district. The farmer wagered his friend that he could not walk the distance in 12 hours. He set out from Okoroire at three o’clock in the afternoon and arrived at the Hamilton Post Office at 2.19 a.rn. next morning. He was accompanied on the journey by a large number of cars.
