SHETLANDS RAID
UNSUCCESSFUL ATTACK ON SHIPPING ENEMY PLANES DRIVEN OFF BY GUNFIRE. SEAPLANE AT MOORINGS SET ON FIRE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day. 9.10 a.m.) LONDON. November 22. Enemy aircraft unsuccessfully attacked shipping in the Shetland area during the morning. Driven off by anti-aircraft gunfire the machines then attacked and set on fire, by means ol a bomb, a Royal Air Force seaplant lying at her moorings. There were nc casualties. Nazi bombers were over the Shetlands for fifteen minutes and bombs were dropped. Anti-aircraft fire drove off the attackers, which swooped low. It is believed that six Nazi planes participated in the raid.
