The Argentine Government announced its intention to prevent purchases from countries other than Britain and France for the duration of the war. The director of the Exchange Control Bureau, Senor Alfredo Louro, states that it is refusing requests for exchange for importations from other countries for merchandise, which can in some form be acquired from Britain.
He added that the Argentine must increase her dependence on the Runcirnan Agreement of 1933. and ' buy from those who buy from us.”
