WOMAN LISTENER GAOLED FOR NINE MONTHS.

The Rotterdam correspondent of “The Times" says that a woman in Thuringia (Germany), was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment for listening to a foreign broadcast. The prosecutor emphasised that offenders against the order not to listen to foreign stations must be dealt with harshly with a view to deterring others. It was an offence to listen to a foreign station even if it was broadcasting only music.
