RUSSIAN OIL

PROMISED TO GERMANY. COMPENSATION FOR LOSS OF POLISH FIELDS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. NEW YORK. November 19. The Moscow correspondent of the "New York Times." Mr Gedye says it is reliably reported that Russia promised Germany 800.000 tons of oil, which is generous in view of Russia’s military and industrial requirements. It can probably be regarded as compensation for Germany's surrender of lhe Polish Drogobich oilfields. If the amount is actually delivered, it will further confirm the genuineness of Russia’s oft-repeated intention of keeping out of a world war.
