WOOL CONTROL
PROTESTS BY MERCHANTS IN LONDON. REVIEW OF SCHEME PROMISED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, November 19. The "Evening News" learns that city wool merchants have postponed the mass meeting of protest arranged for Tuesday pending fulfilment of the Supply Minister’s promise to review the control scheme which, it is alleged, threatens to throw 40 firms out of business. City wool trade has fallen from a turnover of £10,000,000 to almost nothing because of control operating from the Midlands. City firms demand (he distribution of all wool purchases! from overseas through the normal channels, all existing importers and brokers Io be classified as Government agents and paid commission for their services.
