HARRY POLLITT’S STAND
MOSCOW DEAL WITH HITLER OPPOSED.
An editorial in the London Labour ’Daily Herald": —
“Harry Pollitt will not obey Stalin. The best-known British Communist, the most typical representative of the British working-class among the leaders in the party, is removed from office because he will not approve Moscow's latest peace-deal with Hitler. “Even the stubborn discipline of the most rigid political sect in existence cannot prevent a British working-man from forming his own judgment and speaking his own mind. “Men of all parties, who have respected the sincerity of Harry Pollitt's convictions though disagreeing with many of them, will now respect him all the more for the courage and independence he has shown."
