BOILED SALAD DRESSING

A RELIABLE RECIPE. The following is a recipe for a salad dressing that can be made in fairly large quantities and that would keep: Melt in a saucepan about one ounce of butter—remove from the fire and ■stir in two level tablespoons flour, the same of sugar, one teaspoon mustard, half teaspoon salt, a good dash of pepper, then break in one egg and beat well, add a teacup of vinegar and the same of milk. When thoroughly blended, stir over the fire until the mixture thickens—beat until cool, then put. into screw top jar. This will keep tor several weeks. When needed take out a little and thin down with milk or cream. If oil is liked a little lucca oil may be mixed in after the- cooking is finished. Sour cream may always be used for dressing.
