NOT SETTLED YET
MINING DISPUTE ON WEST COAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WESTPORT. November 17. The Denniston mining dispute is still unsettled. A deputation representing various coal-mining organisations interviewed the management this evening seeking settlement of the dispute regarding large tubs introduced into the mine, but the company declined to give way. A request for a supply of a limited amount of coal for use in the houses of miners was also rejected. The committee was hopeful that the dispute would be settled tonight to enable work to be resumed on Monday, but settlement now seems further off than ever.
