VAST & EFFICIENT
ALLIED ORGANISATION ON WEST FRONT DOMINION MINISTERS MUCH IMPRESSED. ARMIES SHOWING FINE SPIRIT. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 17. Circles connected with representatives of the Dominion and Indian Governments who have just returned to London after nearly a week spent in company with the Dominions Secretary. Mr. Eden, in France, stress the very satisfactory character of the contacts established, both official and personal, and their real value of both sides is emphasised. The party motored more than 1200 miles and saw a good deal of the British Expeditionary Force as well as visiting the Maginot Line. They had conversations with both high commands and met the Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Armies, Marshal Gamelin, while they were in Paris. The feature of the visit, however, was the constant and cordial contacts established with the rank and file of both armies, and the enthusiasm with which the visitors were greeted by the troops wherever they went. The representatives of the Dominion and Indian Governments and Mr Eden were deeply impressed by the fine spirit of the two armies. They also came away with a very favourable opinion both of the professional accomplishment of the directive personnel and the efficiency of the vast organisation which stands behind the British Expeditionary Force.
