OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

RENTAL CLINIC FEES (To the Editor) Sir, —May I again encroach on your valuable space to endeavour to lift the fog that appears to exist re Dental

Clinic fees? Your anonymous correspondent. “Parent,’’ appears to see something deficient in the system of collection. That may be justified this year, owing to the change in the secretaryship during the year. The previous secretary sent out numerous accounts. but these not being in duplicate. no record was available to me who had been supplied with a statement. Your correspondent admits receiving a statement in April, 1938, in which the annual fee was ss. Now, if this annual fee was due in April one year, surely, if the child still attends the clinic, the fee is due in April of the succeeding year. As to whom the fees are payable, the clinic officers will gladly supply any information, if any doubt exists. Surely it is not necessary to senci a statement to the

parents of the 800 odd children attending from town schools and 450 from country schools. The children usually remind parents when they attend the clinic. I may add that the majority of the money collected is from parents who require no statement to remind them of their obligations.—Yours, etc., W. A. CLARKE, Secretary, Masterton Dental Clinic. Masterton, November 17.
