ST. PATRICK’S SCHOOL

QUEEN CARNIVAL. FINAL. FUNCTION LAST NIGHT. The final function in connection with the highly successful Queen Carnival recently conducted to enable repairs and improvements to be made to the St Patrick’s School and grounds, was held in the St Pat’s Assembly Hall last night. There was a good attendance of dancers. Mr W. Orange proved a capable M.C. Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys provided the music. Supper was served by the men’s carnival committee. At a suitable opportunity the Rev Father N. Moore expressed appreciation on behalf of the parishioners and himself to the contestants in the carnival and to all who had assisted in any way to make it the outstanding success it proved to be. Mr D. B. Curry, president of the men’s committee, presented the winner. Miss Phil Kilmister and the other contestants Misses Maureen Eastwood. Kitty Cairns and Agnes Mannell with suitable gifts as marks of appreciation. The continuation of dancing rounded of a very pleasant evening. The Monte Carlo competition was won by Mr and Mrs E K. Eastwood.
