CAR HITS POST
FIVE PERSONS INJURED. EARLY MORNING ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ November 16. When a rental car containing five persons left the road near the intersection of Kairanga Road and Gillespie’s Line early this morning five Palmerston North people were injured. They were taken to Palmerston North Hospital by the Free Ambulance. They are:— Mr C. Tttnnicliffe, 12 David Street, who has now been discharged. Mr O. B. Hills. 421 Featherston Street: head injuries, condition not serious. Miss E. Walters. 518 Main Street; injuries to the face, condition fairly serious. Miss L. Plier. 16 Florence Avenue: cuts and abrasions, condition not serious. Miss J. I. Oliver 514 Main Street; head injuries and multiple injuries to the body, with one or two fractures: condition fairly serious. It is understood that the party was returning from a dance when the car left the road and hit a strainer post, then travelled some distance and struck a pair of power polos. The car was extensively damaged.
