JOHNSONVILLE SALE. CATTLE PRICES EASIER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A large yarding of bullocks and a small yarding of cows and heifers were offered by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., at the sale conducted in Johnsonville yesterday. Prime heavy bullocks met with good competition, prices, nevertheless, showing an easing tendency of from 5s to 10s a head. Mediumweight and lightweight bullocks were down fully 15s a head. Plain and unfinished cattle were hard to sell. A good sale resulted for cows and heifers, with little alteration in prices. Prices for prime-quality runners and vealers showed little alteration, but plain sorts were 10s to 15s a head easier. All classes of sheep were well represented. Wethers penned were mostly shorn. Prime heavy wethers met with good competition and met with little alteration. Light sheep wore Is to Is Gd a head easier, hoggets, Gd to Is 3d. prime shorn ewes Is to Is 6d, and woolly ewes Is. All weights of spring lambs met with a good sale, though j there was no alteration in the prices. I Prices are: — j Cattle: Prime extra heavy bullocks £l6 ss, to £l4 18s. prime heavy £l4l 10s to £l3 15s, heavy £l3 12s 6d to £l2 10s, light and unfinished £ll 10s to £lO 10s; extra prime heavy cows and heifers £lO 10s to £9, prime heavy £8 15s to £8 2s, cows and heifers £7 15s to £6 14s; heavy runners £5 5s to £4, runners £3 15s to £2 12s Gd; vealers 35s to 14s. Sheep: Prime extra heavy wethers, woolly, 27s 6d to 25s 6d, shorn, 25s Gd to 235, prime heavy, shorn, 22s 6d to 21s, medium 20s to 18s 3d! prime extra heavy ewes, woolly, 25s Gd to 22s 9d. shorn 20s to 18s 3d. prime heavy 17s to 15s Gd. medium 14s 8d to 12s 3d; heavy hoggets, shorn, 22s Gd to 20s, light 18s 9d to 17s 4d; extra heavy spring lambs 25s 6d to 245, heavy 23s Gd io 21s 6d. medium 20s Gd to 19s.
