JOHNSONVILLE SALE. CATTLE PRICES EASIER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A large yarding of bullocks and a small yarding of cows and heifers were offered by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., at the sale conducted in Johnsonville yesterday. Prime heavy bullocks met with good competition, prices, nevertheless, showing an easing tendency of from 5s to 10s a head. Mediumweight and lightweight bullocks were down fully 15s a head. Plain and unfinished cattle were hard to sell. A good sale resulted for cows and heifers, with little alteration in prices. Prices for prime-quality runners and vealers showed little alteration, but plain sorts were 10s to 15s a head easier. All classes of sheep were well represented. Wethers penned were mostly shorn. Prime heavy wethers met with good competition and met with little alteration. Light sheep wore Is to Is Gd a head easier, hoggets, Gd to Is 3d. prime shorn ewes Is to Is 6d, and woolly ewes Is. All weights of spring lambs met with a good sale, though j there was no alteration in the prices.
