COMMITTEE MEETINGS. MR HANDYSIDE RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN. , The monthly meeting of the management committee of the Methodist Children's Home was held at the Home the chairman (Mr J. H. Handyside) presiding. Other members present were Mesdames Parker and F. C. Daniel Miss Burton. Messrs J. H. Conly, G. F. Witlock, the Rev F. J. Parker, Dr N. H. Prior. A. H. Daniell,, F. E. Wells W. H. Judd, W. R. Nicol (secretarymanager), the assistant secretary (Mi J. A. Wellington). The matron was also in attendance. The chairman extended a hearty welcome to the new assistant-secretary. A donation of £ 1 was received from the. Porirua Circuit. The Home is to combine with the Auckland and Christchurch homes ir conducting a stall at the Exhibition, the dates assigned to Masterton being from December 18 to December 30. Arrange ments for the stall were well in hand and the object will be to impress all who see it with the importance of the work. The annual appeal is to be made shortly to the public. Accounts amounting to £B3 8s 2d were passed for payment. The matron's report revealed that everything was progressing successful ■ ly with the Home and its inmates There were 31 children now in th: Horne. The annual party given to the children was arranged for December 7 ir order to allow more time to the staf. in getting the children away for the school holidays. At the close of the monthly meeting the annual meeting was held. Mr Handyside presiding. The statement of receipts and payments for the year ended Septembe: 30 was presented and adopted. Mr J. H. Handyside was re-electei Chairman of the management commit lee for the ensuing year and Mr F. E Wells vice-chairman. Messrs W. H. Judd. A. H. Daniell and J. A. Donalc were elected a grounds committee. Votes of thanks were passed to mat ron and her staff, to all those who ha: given help during the year, and to th' "Wairarapa Times-Age" Co for the gift of the daily newspaper throughou the year.
