MASSON BOWLING CUP HOLDERS RETAIN TROPHY. (“Times-Age" Special.) The third game for the Masson Cup and badges was played last evening, when the holders, Smith. Boyne, DeLacey and Barber (s) retained the trophies by defeating the challengers, Harris, Underhill. Riggs, G. Hart (s) by 16 z l4. In the first half of the game the challengers scored only 4 points to the holders 12. On the 15th end the score was in favour of the holders, 16/5. Thereafter the holders were unable to score, their opponents scoring 9 points in 6 heads. There will be no games for this trophy until club competitions and Booth Gup games have been completed. Club champion rinks: The draw for Saturday is as under:—Smith, Harrington, R. Thompson, Riggs (s) v. Lynch, Robertson, Beale, Tucker (s); E. Kilmister, W. Steven, A. Thompson, J. G. Stevens (s) v. Hawker, Matson, Pain, Barr (s); G. Steven, Newbould, DeLacey, Hughan (s) v. Beaven, Spooner, Stent, Sorensen (s); Boyne, Harris. Martin, Simmonds (s) v. Callender, Aplin, G. Hart, Barber (s); Hill. Underhill, ' Larsen. Harp (s) v. —, Chatwin. W. Hart, W. Whyte (s). The first match in the club’s competitions was played on the green last evening when a game in the progressive pairs was played between April (lead) and Robertson (s) and Hawker, (lead) and Callender (s). The game was an interesting one and was won by the former pair by 28/26.
BOY SCOUTS CARD TOURNAMENT. The weekly card tournament held under the auspices of the Boy Scouts was held in the Band Room last evening. There was a good attendance and the prizes were won as follows: —Ladies: Mrs Jackson, 1; Mrs F. Daysh and Mrs Mellish (equal). 2. Men: K, Hodder, 1; G. Steffert, 2. Aggregate prizes: Mrs Hopkins, 1; Mrs Holland. 2; Mrs Mellish and Mr Holland (equal), 3. ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS RITUAL WORK EXAMINATION. Bros. Baikie, DeLacey and Bruce, of the Wairarapa Past Grands’ Lodge of Odd Fellows, will visjt Lower Hutt tonight for the purpose of examining the Rose of Valley Juvenile Lodge in their ritual work. LEAGUE OF MOTHERS FATHERS’ NIGHT. Tonight in the Masonic Hall members of the League of Mothers will entertain the fathers. The speaker will be Brian O'Brien, of 2ZB, Wellington, who will make reference to his trip to the South Pole. The address will undoubtedly be very interesting and there should be a large attendance.
