A vigorous anti-Nazi broadcast campaign has been , strengthened by the formation of a German-African Party to combat National Socialism and support General Smuts. The leader of the party, Ulrich von Hutten, one-time friend of Hitler issued a declaration: “We German Afrikanders draw a -harp line between South Africa, which gave us generous hospitality, freedom and peace, and the tyrants of Nazi Germany. Their blood-stained hands were stretched out to this country, which was threatened with ths fate of Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland if General Smuts had not taken action.” Answering General Hertzog’s claim that. Herr Hitler was not- out for world domination, von Hutten states that Hitler. Goering and Goebbels preached a re-distribution of the world, saying: "Today Germany belongs to us, tomorrow the whole world will belong to us.’ AID TO RECRUITING CIVIL SERVANTS TO GET FULL PAY. With a view to encouraging recruiting, the Government has announced that civil servants will receive their full salaries while training or serving in the fighting services or defence organisations. ____________
