The Hon P. C. Webb, Minister of Labour, returned to Wellington from the South Island yesterday.
The Hon R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, will return to Wellington today from the South Island.
The death occurred on Monday at the Waipukurau Hospital of Mr Arthur Oliver, formerly of the Wairarapa, at the age of 71 years. It is probabie that the Prime Minister, Mr Savage, who is vice-patron of the Centennial Exhibition, will pay a visit to the Exhibition on Saturday afternoon.
The Hon W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, left Wellington by the Limited express last night for Morrinsville. He will proceed to Auckland tomorrow.

Mr W. H. Struthers, son of Mr and Mrs W. B. Struthers, Kelburn, has returned to Wellington after an absence of 16 months. Mr Struthers studied in America, where he gained his D.D.S. degree, and later visited England, where he continued his studies.
Visitors to Masterton who have stayed recently at the Empire Hotel, include Messrs Bardell, Roff and H. P. Lawry, S.M.. Palmerston North; Carter, Hawke's Bay; Williams, Lower Hutt; Sargisson, Bradley, Cowan, Willis, Herbert, Martin and Raeburn, Wellington. Some of the recent guests at lhe Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. were Messrs E. G. Scrimshaw and A. W. Carter. Hamilton; J. Badhen, Havelock North; Donovan, Rongomai; E. W. Green. Palmerston North; Bernan, Lange, Roberts, Cummings, and W. V. Manning. Wellington.
Mr Len Greenberg, formerly secretary of the Wellington Y.M.C.A., and lately associated with commercial broadcasting, is leaving New Zealand soon for Australia under engagement to the Commonwealth Government to organise Y.M.C.A. work in connection with the army, the navy, and the air force. Mr Greenberg has been given three months’ leave of absence by the Director of Commercial Broadcasting. His headquarters will be in Melbourne. Mr P. J. Borthwick was unanimously elected as a Life Member of the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club at the committee meeting of the Club held last night. Mr A. McDonald (president) in proposing Mr Borthwick's election to life membership referred to the generous support given by him to the' Club in the past. One of the Club's valued trophies is the Borthwick trophy given for annual competition in aerobatics.
