GOLD MINING RETURNS

Mossy Creek dredge reports that there was no washup last. week. 'rhe Worksop Extended dredge returned 2i ounces for 11", hours from 3000 yards.

Big River Gold Mines. Limited, report the following gold returns for the months of September and October. 1939:—Battery department: 138 oz. 10 dwt. of gold, from 228 tons of ore crushed. Cyanide department: 20oz. 15 dwts. of bullion from 150 tons of sands treated. Total estimated value: £1195. In addition. 2.J tons of concentrates were saved, valued at £lOO. Note: Inestimating the above values, gold has been taken at 160 s an ounce. GREYMOUTH. November 11. The Golden Sands return was 460 z. 18 dwt. for 66 shifts. The Argo return was 330 z. for 132 hours from 14.000 yards.
