STEAK AND PRUNES

A TASTY niSlI. Take two pounds of lop-side steak, cut very thick, and make a pocket. Put in the pocket a layer of prunes which have been soaked and stoned previously, then make the following seasoning: One cupful uf breadcrumbs, one teaspoonful mixed herbs, one egg. a nut of butter, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and place on top of prunes, then add another layer of prunes, and fasten with skewers. Place in meat dish with plenty of dripping, roast one hour, turning meat several times. Put some rashers of bacon on meat and roast another half-hour.
