BURGOMASTER MAX DEAD. EXPRESSIONS OF REGRET IN LONDON. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Dav, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY. November G. The evening newspapers express regrett at the death in Brussels today of Burgomaster Max. following upon an attack of bronchial pneumonia. His courageous services to his own country in the last war are recalled in great detail. Burgomaster Max, who was 70 years of age. sent the following telegram to Lord Mayor of London at the beginning of September: "When Britain, faithful to its promise, courageously faces the trials of war. I express to you and to the members of the corporation of your city and the population of London my feelings of most enthusiastic comradeship."

(Received This Day. 10.30 a.m.) BRUSSELS. November 6. Queen Elizabeth visited Burgomaster Max while he was still conscious. The Minister of the Interior. M Dcveze. attends the lying-in-state. The funeral is fixed for November 9. but IVI Max's will desired that official honours, ceremonial speeches and an elaborate procession should be dispensed with
