MILITARY RESERVE

CLASS I TO COMMENCE TRAINING. PARADE IN MASTERTON ON THURSDAY. Class I of the National Military Reserve will commence training in Masterton on Thursday’ night. This class, which has a strength of 47 locally, includes men from 20 to 35 years who have had at least two years' militarytraining in the Territorials or in any other force in the Empire. The main purpose of Class I is to build up the Territorial forces and to provide reinforcements if these are necessary.

Thursday's parade will be concerned mainly with organisation and thenceforth parades will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays in each month. Among the men in Class I registered in Masterton are several former officers and N.C.O’s.
