GERMAN CATHOLICS
INCREASED PERSECUTION FOLLOWING ON PAPAL ENCYCLICAL. REPORT TO HOLY SEE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) ROME, November 3. The Apostolic Nuncio at Berlin is reporting to Holy See that persecution of Catholics in German territory increased after the Pope’s recent Encyclical. It is understood that the report alleges that members of the Hitler Youth'movement entered churches in the Osnabruck diocese and chased the faithful out of them and attacked and beat Catholics emerging from churches in the St Pollen diocese. The authorities at Rottenburg warned priests not to discuss the Encyclical from their pulpits and not to distribute copies.
