SENTENCES ON SPIES

Accomplices of Madame Virginia Rota, who was sentenced in Switzerland to five years' imprisonment and loss of her civil rights for ten years for attempting to cross the frontier with defence secrets, were sentenced to terms of imprisonment as follows: — Joel, three months: Rochat, 15 months: Madame Rochat, six months. They also suffer varying loss of civil lights. An Oslo message states that a young Norwegian who was arrested at Finmark and charged with espionage, confessed and shot himself.
