WAIRARAPA COLLEGE

ANNUAL SPORTS YESTERDAY MANY NEW RECORDS. CHAMPIONSHIP AND OTHER RESULTS. A large number of new records were set at the annual sports held at Wairarapa College yesterday. The championship winners were: — Boys: Senior: A. Mahupuku; Intermediate: 1. Prior; Junior: A. Dewar; under 14: E. Nahkies. Girls: Senior: Ngaire Richards and Elaine Hanley, equal; Intermediate: Joan Grantham; Junior: Thelma Saunders. Mr J. W. Bird supervised the organisation of the gathering and events started with clockwork promptness. Parents, eld pupils and friends of the school were present in force in the afternoon. The College Pipe Band led an effective parade of athletes at 3 p.m. and the display was well applauded. Mrs G. G. Hancox, wife of the Principal. presented the championship cups and prizes at the end of the day.
