LATE MR 0. H. BEETHAM
WAR SERVICE IN N.Z. ARTILLERY. The late Mr O. H. Beetham, whose death was reported in yesterdays •‘Times-Age” was married in London in 1920 to Miss Eileen Jeanette Bidwill, only daughter of Mrs Charles R. Bidwill and the late Mr Bidwill, of Tawaha, Lower Valley. He was educated at the Wanganui Collegiate School where he was head prefect. He took a keen interest in .rowing and was a member of the school crew which took part in inter-collegiate contests. The late Mr Beetham had travelled extensively in America. Europe and Africa. During the Great War he took part with the sth Battery N.Z.F.A., in the break through and follow up in connection with the lighting at Mormal Forest, and the subsequent march to Cologne where he was stationed with the army of occupation. A son, Adrian, is a pupil of the Wanganui Collegiate School, and his daughter. Annette, is at Woodford House. Besides a widow and family of two , the late Mr Bentham leaves a brother, Mr R. F. R. Beetham, Brancepeth, and a sister. Mrs M. Bethell, Canterbury. The funeral took place at the Masterton Cemetery this afternoon being very largely attended. Prior to leaving the homestead. Morland, a service was held by the Rev. E. J. Rich. When the cortege reached Masterton it was further increased by a number of local residents, including a strong contingent of returned soldiers. At the graveside the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. E. J. Rich. The pall-bearers were Messrs Harold Beetham, Hugh Beetham, C. R. Bidwill. Richard Bethell. Malcolm Campbell. R. Himoana and J.
